Sadly...we seem to be a nation of people who always have to hate someone.
Whether it was blacks...
Or the Native American...
Or women...
Or the Nazis...
Or the Russians...
(granted, we were in the right when it came to the Nazis and Russians)
This disturbing trend now leads to hating of gays. Some call the USA the "greatest country God ever gave man". I guess I just do not see how this country is so great when it knowingly and happily discriminates against a group of people for merely no reason more than "well I just don't like how they live their lives!".
One would think that 200 years of discriminating against one group or another would have finally taught us to simply accept people for who and what they are. Perhaps one of these decades we will finally accept gays as the benvolent, kind, caring human beings that they are and will finally give them all the rights of other human beings. Well...as long as we find some other group of people to hate first.
